Birmingham Children's Hospital
Client:
Birmingham Children's Hospital
Contractor:
DBS
M&E Value:
£600 Thousand
Completion Date:
April 2012
About The Project:
This project involved the provision of a new HV-LV mains distribution system to the existing Hospital in order to accommodate the proposed alterations to F Building within the complex.
The NHS Trust ordered the following items that were free issued to us for installation:
- Cast Resin Transformer system
- Cast Resin Busbar
- Main LV Switchboard
DBS supplied and installed a new 1.5 MVA Generator and all associated cabling and containment. We also installed a primary support system for the Cast Resin Busbar to be installed between the new Switchgear within the roof top plant room and the new generator.
The earthing system was particularly complex as two boreholes had to be created to a depth of 100 metres to allow the copper earth rods to be installed.
In addition DBS undertook new lighting installations to the roof top plant area and also provided all necessary power supplies to an external specialist gas compound.
The BMS system for the new generator and switchgear alarms were also installed as part of our works.
